A polished, energetic, social dining experience that evokes the nostalgia of the 20’s and 50’s, catering to the sensibilities of a new generation of trendsetters and tastemakers, Yvonne’s is a modern interpretation of the supper club. Located in the space formerly occupied by Locke-Ober, a cornerstone of the Boston dining establishment for 150 years.
A bastion of Boston’s dining scene for more than a century, Locke-Ober opened its doors in 1862 as a small cellar café run by Luis Ober. For years, Ober oversaw the Winter Place address and, with the help of a wealthy investor, renovated the space into the structure that still stands today. The landmark restaurant was known for its elite clientele, paramount discretion, globe-trotting food and wild parties – all elements Yvonne’s maintains today.
The restaurant unfolds as a cavernous space adorned with antique crystal chandeliers set against raw unvarnished brick, overstuffed heather gray tufted sofas, and hand-clipped Calacatta marble floors anchored by an intricately hand-carved Santo Domingo mahogany bar. The lounge, library and supper clubrooms pulse with energy while each pays irreverent homage to the history within the walls. With large format drinks in crystal chalices, dramatic long-bone Wagyu steaks, crave-worthy social plates, and a rocking bar scene, Yvonne’s has ushered in a new era of dining revelry downtown.
